Harmony Integration Week April 2022

Two locations, two robots, one week to kick off our integration efforts!
BONN, ETHZ, TUD and ABB at Vasteras

Last week we met onsite at the University of Twente in Enschede, NE and at ABB Corporate Research in Vasteras, SE to begin work integrating the different hardware and software modules of the Harmony stack onto our two Harmony robots.

Unboxing the IDM Harmony robot (check out the wheel caps!)

We kicked off the week in Enschede where we unboxed and rebuilt the IDM Harmony robot. Then followed an intense couple of days wrangling TF trees and sensor calibration boards to set up the Harmony perception stack to test some early person detection and tracking.

First tests of the Harmony perception stack for person detection and tracking.

Then we headed to ABB to do it all again but now with the ABB mobile YuMi platform!

Very big thanks to our hosts at UT and ABB for the wonderful organisation. After such a long time interacting remotely, it was a very nice change to be working together in the same space!
